Here are two recently published review papers on two operculate landsnail genera . Cochlostoma is a Mediterranean group and as such, its taxa contribute significantly to the terrestrial biodiversity in the Alpine and the Balkan regions. Although the Asian Pseudopomatias is somewhat out of the geographic range of our interest, this paper worths note because P. maasseni was the first species where we successfully extracted DNA from mummified gastropod bodies (modified after Thomsen et al. 2009). This method will be very useful in our other projects.
